The Blue Mountains have views ranging from sandstone cliffs, to canyons, to waterfalls and caves. The Wollomi Pine, a tree of ancient importance calls the area home. The Blue Mountains cover an expanse of 1.03 million hectares comsisting of seven national park and six Aboriginal language Groups. Over 100 of the world’s Eucalypt trees thrive here, and the region boasts more than 400 kinds of vertebrates.

 

After riding the Railway, come walk on the Scenic Walkway to the Scenic Cableway, which can carry 84 people at a time and is wheelchair accessible. The Scenic Skyway is another way to enjoy the valley and rainforest. The floor of this cablecar opens up partway to reveal glass through which you can see the valley nearly 300 metres below. You’ll see ravines and waterfalls and the beauty of the Jamison Valley from above.

 

The Scenic Walkway is over two kilometres long, and it offers 380 metres of walkway that is wheelchair accessible. You can drink from the Marrangaroo Spring or relax on a bench in the Rainforest Room as you stroll along the walkway and enjoy the beautiful ancient rainforest around you. The Scenic Walkway also features an exhibition on the coal mine that used to be located here. You will see tools used by the miners and enjoy a 10-minute audio visual show.

Directions

 

Drive 100 Km west of Sydney, or ride the train here to reach Scenic World. We are located at the corner of Cliff Drive and Violet Street, just 3 Km from the centre of Katoomba. We have a free car park as well. Should you come by train, ride the Blue Mountains Explorer or Trolley Tours bus to our entrance. The nearest airport is Sydney Airport, which Jetstar flies to daily.
